What's the one ritual you practice/follow every day?
Visualization is something I practice everyday. I think visualizing yourself accomplishing your goals is very important and it’s something I’ve done since I was a kid. When I was 6 years old (before I started boxing) I always visualized myself becoming a world champion.
What ritual brings you the most happiness?
Prayer brings me the most happiness and peace. Especially when I’m exhausted mentally and physically.
Do you use rituals to help you achieve your goals?
These rituals help me achieve my goals because they strengthen my mind and help me refocus and remain calm. Boxing is more mental than physical so doing things that help me mentally is very important.
What was a big setback in your life? What did you do to come back from it?
The biggest setback in my life was at the beginning of my pro career because I struggled so much with breaking down barriers for women’s boxing. I continued to believe in myself though, through visualization of my goals and prayer, and was able to overcome all of the struggles.
What advice would you give to anyone that feels unable to reach the next level of success?
I would tell that person to never give up even when times become tough. Struggles are what build character and makes success even more enjoyable. Believe in yourself and visualize all of your goals until each one is accomplished.
When you're feeling drained, what do you do to recharge?
When I’m feeling drained I recharge with my Ladder supplements!
Who has inspired or influenced any of your rituals?
My father inspired each ritual. He always made me visualize all of the things I wanted to accomplish and let me know that nothing can stop me from bringing those thoughts to life. Also, prayer is something we would do as a team before and after fights.
What's your favorite quote of all time?
