What's the one ritual you practice/follow every day?
Even though I travel a lot for work and have to be away from my family, I make sure to keep my schedule open during my daughter Olympia’s bedtime - no matter where I am in the world - so we can FaceTime and I can be with her to say goodnight.
Do you have any health and/or fitness rituals?
I have a very busy travel schedule that doesn’t allow me to get to the gym in Florida as much as I’d like to. Because I’m always on the road, I usually bring TRX equipment with me to get quick workouts in at the hotel. I try to be diligent about getting some exercise even when I’m confined to planes and hotels on the road.
Do you have any meal-time rituals?
When it comes to eating, I try my best to keep up with a healthy, clean regimen. I typically skip breakfast and drink black French press coffee, or something that The Coffee Movement recommends to me. My first meal of the day is almost always a smoothie that includes lots of spinach, blueberries, almond milk and Ladder protein. Dinner varies, but I prefer to find places with plant-based options and love a cheat day with an Impossible burger. I also aim to drink a few liters of water throughout the day.
What ritual brings you the most happiness?
When my wife and I both aren’t traveling for work, one of my favorite Sunday traditions is to wake up early and cook breakfast for her and my daughter Olympia. I have a delicious pancake recipe that was passed down from my dad (no, I won’t share it with you - but it does have a special ingredient), and the three of us spend the morning together without phones or computers. It’s such a simple thing, but I really just love the time we can spend together being a family and lounging around the house.
Who has inspired or influenced any of your rituals?
A lot of what I do these days is for my family. My health and fitness rituals are motivated by my desire to be an active dad and husband. My Sunday routine of making breakfast for my family was definitely inspired by my dad, as we used to do the same thing when I was growing up.
